Andrew Krueger offers tailored workshops on throwing dramatic bottles and vases with a sense of breath and/or an introduction to crystalline glazing. In a bottle workshop, students can expect to learn to throw and trim porcelain bottles with exaggerated features like narrow feet, narrow necks, and large, inflated bellies.
A glaze workshop with Andrew would focus on a the basics of crystalline glazes- drip catchers, firing cycles, formulas, and application. He will also share his testing methods, combining chemistry and visual evidence to manipulate glazes. The goal of the glaze workshop is to demystify crystalline glazes and show that, with some planning, they aren’t scary to work with.
